I grew up in Colorado and have also lived several years in Michigan. "The beauty of Gods' creation never ceases to amaze me, whether it's out on the plains of Colorado, the majestic Rocky Mountains, or the full color of fall in Michigan." I love it when an artist captures some of the creativity and beauty of our world in a painting, it cause me to meditate on God and His handiwork in everything I see.
A few years ago I began painting, with a desire to learn and develop this gift. I have completed several art courses on line, most recently one with professional painter, Johannes Vloothuis. I continue to practice and learn every week. You can see and purchase some of my completed pieces at my gallery.
I’ve also completed several workshops and a hands-on professional picture framing school course. I’ve learned a great deal about presentation, mounting and matting techniques, and the skills to craft a quality frame that enhances and protects the art. I’ve studied and learned preservation techniques as well, so that your finished product will last a lifetime and more.
Most recently, I’ve started a business out of my studio called, Prints n Frames! My desire is to encourage others with images of God’s creation that will remind others of His promises and constant presence. I realize that many photos that are currently stored electronically really should be printed and mounted for all to see. To create a unique presentation, I’ve learned we can professionally print these photos onto hand stretched artist quality canvas that will be a memory for generations to come.
I’m currently working on several art projects that hopefully will strengthen and comfort others. I’m excited about the direction that God is taking me, and how He uses art (in any form) to inspire people. One of my favorite Psalms is 145, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness.” (vs 3-6 ESV)
